In opening a new headquarters, TD Ameritrade brought together its corporate, technology and operations teams, who had been dispersed throughout the Omaha metropolitan area. The result, using an open-plan floor plate, accommodates these business units’ continuously changing needs, offers improved workspaces and enhances collaboration.
The company also had a goal to create a greener working environment, limiting its carbon footprint and decreasing operational expenses over time.
HOK with Xibitz support had already designed and implemented a flagship retail environment for TD Ameritrade Houston Texas and Hollywood California, called on again to develop elements that are artful extensions of the company’s brand attributes for their new headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.
HOK with Xibitz support achieved the company’s interior branding goals, creating a high-energy, fun and collaborative workplace which employs cues from the financial industry, community, company history and sustainability achievements. A two-story Atrium Wall Sculpture, History Wall embedded with iPads, self-updateable community display, monochromatic award display, and Abacus Sculpture celebrate the company’s story and promote interaction.
The facility is on track to achieve LEED® Platinum Certification, the highest level available. If successful, it will be the ninth largest new construction Platinum building in the country.
