Communicating the Power of Generosity

As part of a private, non-profit health care system, Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health relies on donor generosity and goodwill to continue to provide the highest level of care to the patients and families it serves.

A recently built 10-story inpatient building designed to add capacity, increase efficiency and enhance patient satisfaction – The Riley Hospital for Children Simon Family Tower at Indiana University Health – further demonstrates this commitment to family-centered care.

A critical component of a $500 million, 10-year strategic plan, this expansion is increasing access to expert care, highlighting Riley’s role as a preeminent pediatrics medical provider, and serving as a key step toward achieving the hospital’s goal to be one of the largest and best children’s hospitals in the nation.

Critical to making this vision a reality was a $40 million gift by the Simon Family. The extraordinary generosity of this, the largest gift ever to Riley at IU Health, was augmented by many other benevolent contributors as well. To show appropriate appreciation and honor these donors, Riley engaged Xibitz and HKS to create displays celebrating the hospital’s story of healing and hope.

The collaboration resulted in a custom donor recognition system, aligned with the building’s character, to tell a remarkable story of compassionate care, support and comfort for Riley Kids and their families.
