Over 50 years ago, Japanese teacher Toru Kumon sought a way to help his son do better in school. Since then, the unique instructional method he created has helped millions of children succeed through thousands of Kumon Math and Reading Centers globally.
Today, it is the world’s largest after-school education company and, as it continues to unlock children’s potential, it has become one of the globe’s largest and most established franchise businesses. To provide systematic learning and development activities for new associates and prospective franchisees, the company created Kumon University in Teaneck, New Jersey.
As part of its goal to impart a common vision, culture and values across the organization, it turned to Xibitz to help create the Kumon University Museum. Documenting the growth of the company in the United States and worldwide, the museum aims to educate visitors about the legacy, mission and philosophy of the program.
It also serves as a research and education center for Kumon instructors and associates to examine new methods to develop independent learning skills in children.
