When Hillshire Brands relocated from its Downers Grove, Illinois home to the Chicago Loop, it was doing more than moving its headquarters. It was transforming its brand.


With a new name and renewed energy, the former Sara Lee Corporation turned to designer Perkins+Will for creation of a collaborative, professional and inspiring environment. The resulting design minimizes corporate hierarchy while maximizing open plan areas, access to natural light and opportunities for teamwork via “backyard” meeting and unique conference spaces.


Xibitz partnered with the designer to provide environmental graphics like a dynamic, 3D, painted acrylic logo; photo-quality elevator lobby graphic panels fabricated for easy updates; and an element featuring employee names printed on optically clear film and applied to glass.

[Demonstrating Value.

In addition to identifying unique ways to carry out the designer’s intent for showcasing dynamic branding elements, Xibitz provided material and performance mock-ups and video footage making clear the procedure to update changeable panels. Also delivered: a demonstration of the designer-specified innovative lighting technology. ]

Consumer Marketing Displays produced andinstalled on the third floor in the elevator lobby area consist of eight individual changeable graphic panels that are 41 inches wide by 21 inches tall, recess-mounted flush with the face of the wood wall, and lit with FAWOO-EVO-Lite LED light panels. Similar displays without lighting were produced for other areas on the fifth floor.

(middle and bottom) 500 square feet of glass panels layered with text (404 employee names), logos, and messaging cut out of custom-printed vinyl and applied to both sides of the glass is a transformational agent for delivering Hillshire Brands messaging: WE VALUE EVERYONE – WE VALUE OWNERSHIP – WE VALUE PASSION.
